Family Promise of Bartow County has made it midway through its first year and owes a lifetime of gratitude to Mrs. Summer Carpenter the first Director of this organization. She has transitioned out of the position and the board has selected John S. Lampley as Interim Director to take the helm as we see what the future holds for the next couple of months.
John has worked in the Behavior Health community for the last 8 years with Willowbrooke at Tanner and Harris Counseling. Currently serving as the Youth Pastor for Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cartersville, GA. John’s compassion for young people has provided several opportunities to assist them over the years. John is the Co-Chair to the Summer Hill Tutorial Program for Standardized Testing. In the mid 2000’s John taught in the Middle School at Shiloh Hills Christian and coached High School football. John is a native of Jackson, MS and his family currently reside in Kennesaw, GA but he has extensive service to the Cartersville Bartow County community. John has been quoted as saying “helping to make a difference in someone else’s life is what’s important”, his reputation of service and compassion for others precedes him.
So what does this mean for the organization? This means that we are alive and thriving! We are looking for John to build on the foundation that has already been laid. John’s relationships with the local congregations, and his behavioral health background for the families that we serve is a great combination to get us to the next level.
As an organization we are excited about our future with John Lampley!!
