Dee Anne Wyse – President
Dee Anne Wyse is passionate about volunteering. She volunteers for Family Promise of Bartow County, is a leader in her church and in her community.
Dee Anne’s involvement with FPBC began with the group’s inception in 2013. She is the currently serving as President of the Board of Directors and is active in all Board committees, events and activities.
Dee Anne retired from Georgia Power/Southern Company after a career that spanned 37-years. She held a myriad of positions that included customer service, marketing, human resources, operations, information technology and strategic and business planning. She leverages the Corporate experience in her nonprofit endeavors. Her strategic planning expertise is essential to FPBC.
Wyse has lived in Bartow County since 2007 and considers it home! She lives wither her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson Mason and granddaughter Bailey. They also share their mountain home with 4 four-legged canine children: Toby, Lady, John Luke and Abbey Rose.
Dee Anne loves spending time with her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, yoga, cooking and an occasional 5K.
One of her favorite scripture verse is Ephesian 2:10, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus so that we can do the good things He planned long ago.”
Paula Womack – Secretary
Paula Lyon Womack is a School Social Worker in Cartersville City Schools. For the last 24 years, she has been dedicated to the physical and emotional health and well-being of children; to the success and stability of families; and to the education and awareness of homeless children and their families.
Paula most enjoys seeing the collaboration among churches, businesses, and individuals in her community who come together to resolve issues of poverty, hunger, and homelessness. Several examples of the community collaboration include the Backpack Buddy Program –providing food to children over weekends who may otherwise go without, The Least of These program – bringing awareness to volunteers who provide student and families with food, clothing, or medical services as needed , and Bartow Give a Kid A Chance- a community school supply drive for children at the beginning of each school year. In 2014, Paula received the Hero of the Year award from Heatco Inc. for her involvement in the Backpack Buddy program.
Paula has served as President, Immediate Past President and Secretary of the Northwest Georgia School Social Work Association as well as serving on the board of the Georgia School Social Work Association. She is a sustaining member of the Cartersville Service League having served as Recording Secretary and a past member of the Rome Junior Service League. She served on the Bartow Collaborative Board for 12 years holding various board positions and currently holds the position of Secretary on the Family Promise Board.
She is married to Joey Womack and loves being “Mom” to Anna Catherine (13 yo) and Joseph (8 yo)! She is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where she serves as Eucharistic Minister, is a member of the Parish Council, and works with the Life Teen program.
Patricia Murphy is an educator in the Bartow County School District. She has worked in the field of education for 27 years. Mrs. Murphy has lived in 12 different cities and brings the best teaching practices from 7 of those cities. She prides herself in knowing that her 8th grade English Language Arts students have received some of the highest scores on Georgia statewide tests in the county.
Pat graduated from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla., served as a Speech Language Pathologist for Cartersville City Schools, obtained teacher licensure from Colorado State University and attended several other colleges while Mike, her husband of 33 years, climbed the career ladder. Pat is blessed to be the mother of two wonderful adult children, Gena (Ben), a teacher and Ja’Mal (LaLita), a captain in the U.S. Army who recently returned to the states from South Korea. She is fascinated by her two granddaughters Evelyn, 4, and Mai Jolie 3, and is looking forward to the birth of a third granddaughter mid-late September 2015. Mrs.
Murphy has served on the board of directors for Canyon Concert Ballet in Ft.Collins, Colorado. She enjoys swimming, singing, and sinking into the world of Grandma-dom as a MiMi.
